Welcome to NetNutrition!

A resource and guide to food choices and nutritional information here at UB. Just follow the instructions below to get started! For further information or assistance, please contact the CDS Registered Dietitian at dietitian@buffalo.edu.

Why Use NetNutrition?

  • Make informed choices about the food you eat on campus.
  • Keep track of your meals and make healthier decisions.
  • Find menu options that meet your dietary needs and preferences.

Basics

  1. Choose a dining location.
  2. For dining centers, select a day and a meal (Breakfast, Brunch, Dinner).
  3. To check the nutrition and ingredients for an item, click on the item name and the nutrition facts label will appear.

Build a Meal

  1. Check mark the menu items that you want to include as part of your meal.
  2. Use the drop-down box to select the number of servings.
  3. Click "Add Items" at the bottom of the screen – your selected items will appear on the left side of the page under "MyMeal."
  4. Don't forget to add condiments, beverages, breads, or any other food items you'll need to complete your meal.
  5. Once all items have been selected, click the "Meal Nutrition" button to view the nutritional composition of your entire meal.

Portion Size

  • Portion sizes are based on what would be considered to be a standard or typical serving size for that item. This may not necessarily be the amount that you ate. So, if a serving size is listed as ½ cup, but you estimate that you ate one cup, then select "2" half cups.
  • For certain operations, you may select different serving sizes. For example at Guac & Roll, if you order a burrito, make sure your toppings and protein is selected as a burrito portion.

Hide Allergens

  • To filter for an allergen or item you would like to avoid, check those items in the Hide Allergens list. Any menu items containing those allergens will be removed from the menu.

For those avoiding gluten: to filter out items that contain gluten, select gluten and wheat – items with wheat are also marked with gluten, and items that do not contain wheat but contain other sources of gluten such as rye, oats, and malt, will be filtered. The remaining items will be foods which, based on ingredients, do not contain obvious sources of gluten. This does not take into account cross-contact or "hidden" sources of gluten that may not be obvious on a nutrition label.

Show Only

  • Select either the "vegetarian" or "vegan" trait and menu options that fit these criteria will appear.
  • Check mark "Smart Choice" to find healthier options on campus.
